Here is some information to know before your send your information to us:
#1 CRITERIA: FOR CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, RESIDENTS WHO MOVED HERE WITHIN 2023. For the purposes of this event, the geography includes the Charlotte Metropolitan area, zip codes 280xx, 281xx, 282xx, 286xx, 297xx.
Art Transplant 2024 is an inaugural anti-gallery event for artists that have just moved to the Charlotte, NC area less than one year ago and are wanting to get their foot in the door. This event is curated and hosted by re|muse and is supported by local Charlotte businesses and organizations that influence the creative community.
Why do we call this an anti-gallery event? We don’t charge for applications or display space. All we need is your time and effort to promote the event, be present at the event, and represent your art to connect with artists, collectors and prospects. You get to keep 100% of your sales. Yes, that’s right, there’s no commission fee!
In addition to Adam Wise Art, we will be selecting 4 more talented new Charlotte artists for this event, and physical space is very limited.
Requirements:
Have relocated to the Charlotte area within 2023
Have physical work available to physically display
Provide up to five (5) pieces of artwork not more than 3 years old at the time of event. At the event, one (1) of the pieces must be heart-themed; this piece does not need to be complete before the submission deadline. Newly completed work that has been cured and dried can be submitted as a revision to your application as long as your initial application has been accepted by the deadline.
All art pieces displayed at the event must be available for sale at the event.
Must include an artist statement (keep it simple and authentic!) that can be shared in printed materials and social media.
Additional display furniture may be required by the artist, but we’ll work with you on that.
Deadline: December 17, 2023 by 9p ET. We will review all applications and inform selected artists on December 30, 2023, via email and text. Once selected, we will provide an itinerary and event information.
